I'm going to delete this account. I've started a new one: [info]r_c_c. I've already posted an entry under it explaining why. So do add if you'd like. Cheers!

poignant ("To Ramona" by Bob Dylan) [Mar. 3rd, 2007|01:05 pm]
Ramona, come closer,
Shut softly your watery eyes.
The pangs of your sadness
Shall pass as your senses will rise.
The flowers of the city
Though breathlike, get deathlike at times.
And there's no use in tryin'
T' deal with the dyin',
Though I cannot explain that in lines.

Your cracked country lips,
I still wish to kiss,
As to be under the strength of your skin.
Your magnetic movements
Still capture the minutes I'm in.
But it grieves my heart, love,
To see you tryin' to be a part of
A world that just don't exist.
It's all just a dream, babe,
A vacuum, a scheme, babe,
That sucks you into feelin' like this.

I can see that your head
Has been twisted and fed
By worthless foam from the mouth.
I can tell you are torn
Between stayin' and returnin'
On back to the South.
You've been fooled into thinking
That the finishin' end is at hand.
Yet there's no one to beat you,
No one t' defeat you,
'Cept the thoughts of yourself feeling bad.

I've heard you say many times
That you're better 'n no one
And no one is better 'n you.
If you really believe that,
You know you got
Nothing to win and nothing to lose.
From fixtures and forces and friends,
Your sorrow does stem,
That hype you and type you,
Making you feel
That you must be exactly like them.

I'd forever talk to you,
But soon my words,
They would turn into a meaningless ring.
For deep in my heart
I know there is no help I can bring.
Everything passes,
Everything changes,
Just do what you think you should do.
And someday maybe,
Who knows, baby,
I'll come and be cryin' to you.

Is it just me or does Keira Knightley look a lot more like Edie Sedgwick than Sienna Miller?

The song I had as "Haunt me now" (by Martin Phillips) is actually called "Small spark." Jason gave me a burned copy of the album, without a tracklisting, and I guess the tracklisting I found online didn't correspond correctly with the CD. Sorry!

Another truly great H song:

"Here Comes My Girl" - Tom Petty

Anyone have an MP3 or M4A of it they want to send me? ^_^ Found it! Click the link above to download it.

List five songs that begin with the letter given to you and explain why you picked them. Comment asking for a letter and I'll give it to you.

Julie ([info]sweetrecovery) gave me H. (I did ten songs because it was too hard to narrow it down to five.)

MP3s included )

This sweet, loveable dog is currently homeless. If you or someone you know would be interested in adopting her and live(s) in the L.A. area, please let me know.

I just thought of the best joke ever. It's a thing you say:

My nose won't stop running... Maybe I shouldn't have bought it those athletic shoes.

Chipping Sparrow, Great Spruce Head Island, Maine, June 16, 1971

The other day, Brian and I went to The Getty. It was lovely--the weather was nice and cool, and it wasn't too crowded. We originally had gone to see the Rubens-and-Breughel exhibit, but we also wandered into the exhibit featuring Eliot Porter, a nature photographer. It was lovely, and, to my delight, there was an entire room dedicated to photographs of birds! If you (Los Angeleans) are into that kind of thing, you should check it out.
